Practice nurse / HCA

Our practice nurse and HCA are available Monday to Friday and provide a range of services including:

·  Ear Care

·  Dressings

·  Spirometry

·  Vaccinations and Immunisations

·  Travel advice and vaccinations

·  Breast Awareness

·  Cervical Smears

·  Contraceptive Checks

·  Chronic Disease management such as diabetes, asthma, hypertension, chronic heart disease

·  Minor Injuries

·  Smoking Cessation

·  Well person clinics

·  Weight management

Please note that our clinics are by appointment only.

 

Antenatal - Monday 2:00pm to 4:00pm

pregnant4This clinic is run by the midwives. If you become pregnant, you will be given a ‘booking appointment’ at which the midwife will ask you a few questions and carry out some general health checks. You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy either at the practice or at the local hospital, or both.

Child health and immunisation

All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from eight weeks old. The health visitor also holds regular clinic that are usually held on a Tuesday afternoon as advertised.

Minor surgery

Minor operations can be done in our treatment room. Please discuss this with your doctor who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment.

Diabetes

Led by our GPs and Practice Nurse, who offer advice and general health check-ups to patients diagnosed with diabetes.

Asthma sufferers can make appointments with our clinical team for specialist advice in asthma care.

Stopping smoking

Run by our Health Care Assistant, this clinic gives advice and support to patients trying to give up smoking.

Anticoagulation Monitoring

The practice is happy to manage any monitoring needed for anticoagulant drugs such as warfarin and other similar medications
